Malaybalayan patiently listened to what Erap and Mayor Binay had to say about their intention to run as President and Vice-President respectively. The overpowering feeling Malaybalayan felt was that of melancholy. As other bloggers expressed the candidates do not seem to exude spontaneity, creativity, vitality- the aura was that of the same package of the same.
Perhaps it is time for the "olderly" candidates to give way to the young. They had their time. So when Erap said "his running will serve as his last performance" one cannot but say, exactly this has nothing to do with first or last performance. Rather it has everything to do with the future of a country which if its future is not taken care of by leaders with the right intentions, it may not have much of a future left.
Fortunately, there is a good number of candidates who are young, patriotic and brilliant. This forthcoming election in 2010 is a test of what the citizenry can do to take care of its country. Make sure you have registered. Do not wait for October 31 to come- begin the change yourself:IKAW MISMO.
"You and I will travel far together . . . make our presidentiables lead the country to a better course as ever. With the election not so far, together, then our country, beloved Philippines, will finally be what it is destined to be and with God, a future for you and I . . ."
