Being born and raised in Malaybalay, certain things that happen are left unquestioned. How great were our student days when we dared question the authority, the things we felt were unjust were scrutinized; we demonstrated/rallied/shouted for our freedom. Those were the days, now we have become passive and more careful.
Would this mean therefore that if brownouts happen we just let it be? If we see teenagers roam around the streets at one or two a.m. we just charge it to their youth? If we see all the vandalism that dirty our wall and door we just shrug our shoulders for what could we do anyways?
Many years passed since my years of youth spent in Malaybalay but to this day there is discontent in my heart for the way things are. Perhaps when it is too much to bear or the time has come for it to end.
So, fellow Malaybalayans, where do you go tomorrow? Where else, if not Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines the friendly city.
