Along came the killers; in fact they massacred, 57 helpless, defenseless filipino men and women, regardless of gender, age, work - people and vehicles together. The victims of massacre were then buried in a big, shallow hole - ironically those who were still able to text before they finally "found themselves dead" alerted loved ones, media and other avenues, so the voices of the dead were finally heard. Now, the Philippines has been declared the most dangerous or to be less brutal, one of the most dangerous places for mediamen.
Malaybalay, where Malaybalayan was born and educated, is part of Mindanao just as Maguidanao is. What does this tell us? We are not safe anymore. We have only our God to protect us. Malaybalayan however prays that local governments will do their jobs to augment the security measures. Although nothing can be better than to knock on the hearts of these killers to stop, please stop, what they are doing.
Malaybalayan could not fathom the cruelty that every killer possesses. It was not enough for them to kill - man, woman ( pregnant or not) but also to bury their vehicles equally destroyed - and when they buried everything, it was not six feet under ground but just disrespectfully covered with soil perhaps leaving the flesh as food for animals or birds of prey? Why God, Why?
May God have have mercy on all of us.
