In keeping with the times, Malaybalay , Bukidnon, Philippines is celebrating the Christmas season in a subdued way. If you go around the city, houses that used to cover its walls with christmas lights and other christmas trimmings, opted to go simple. The city plaza seemed to "consume" all the lighting connections". Is it because the payment comes from "people's money"? Then of course, there's Gaisano Malaybalay which just opened and so this Christmas it has to go full swing to convince the Malaybalayans the Gaisano in Malaybalay is as good as all the Gaisanos wherever it is located.
Up to now, Malaybalayan is still driving away the thought to retire from teaching altogether. On one hand, the students who come her way give her the reason to keep on teaching if only to help "lift up" the future educators. On the other hand, the call to take time and enjoy life according to one's pace is so inviting to her especially now that blogging has come her way. This New Year, 2010, will certainly be a time to reflect and set things in proper perspective.
No wonder it is sometimes advisable to be subdued even as we celbrate.
To all students in Education 138 (Peace Education) , Education 129 with Field Study(Principles of Education 2), NSTP 102 (Community Immersion), English 136 (Grammar and Structure of English) my Christmas wishes and prayers for a Better and More Opportunity-Filled New Year, 2010!!!
