The song goes: "When did she get to be a beauty? When did she grow to be so tall? Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?" Indeed, the song is apt whenever, you as Godmother get to look at your Godchildren.
This was my feeling in fact when I looked at my Ate, my Kuya, my Diko, my Bonbon, Chino and my other nephews and nieces. How the years passed by so slowly yet so quickly. I could only stare at how grown up they have become. Sometimes, I am so overwhelmed, I could not help but cry - with joy.
Definitely, money is not the only factor that is needed to manifest your care and concern as Godparent or as "Santa". You can only be amazed at their simplicity and openness to a sincere wish, prayer, a pat on the shoulder, a little cash with love.
To Malaybalayan's godchildren, nephews, nieces and those she met along life's journey: Joy and Newness for the Year ahead.
