Coping with being alone as the children go their way

If there is one inevitable scenario fifty and above adults have to cope, it is being alone. This does not mean that we are on our own throughout our remaining years but that our main responsibility to our kids turn adults has ended. Another phase of life has presented itself. The inevitable is now at hand. How should we cope?

Immediately it is one's well rounded personality that saves. If you have been independent in your journey through life even this new phase is viewed as the prize of letting go. It is an easier thing to cope with for those who are still working. Somehow, the demands of work replace the pangs of loneliness and aloneness. This reminds us that this life on earth is temporary, even one's familial relationships are temporary.

So this is everybody's pilgrimage. We accept this and we move on.
