There are so many words that are out there and yet there are few words that matter. When readers comment one way or the other then somehow it is a way of confirming that of the many things written one idea has found a partner of some sort.
This is the case with Sha who commented about a blog that wanted to ask perspectives about plastic surgery. Plastic surgery, according to Sha of Costa Rica, is used for "enhancement" among the young so why not for the elderly. Comments, like this, lead you to the various articles about plastic surgery and indeed they confirmed that in 2010,84,685 went through some kind of procedure according to CBS. In US News, the question raised was: Is it time for grandma to get a facelift? The answer is it may or may not be but should grandma decide certain tings have to be considered especially her health.
The elderly "blue" part in me is saddened because the longing for true beauty other than physical is preferred. One need not have anything "done" to feel confident because the lines and the wrinkles are here because it is part of aging and it is good.
The elderly "blow" part in me is emboldened because the so-called surgery is a reality that can be used as a means not an end. In our case, surgery is not yet the option but already we can hardly go on with our teaching career without a regular visit to the beauty parlor to "dye" our hair. We look very old with our grey hair and dry faces. So the regimen is to put color on our hair and true to its promise, we look fresh and better looking with some brown or red streaks in our hair and clean, white heads-free ace to boot!
So go for it fellow elderly - all things considered, you are more than your physical look but if it perks you up, see your specialist. Live life to its fullest!
In the meantime, anymore comments to the other blogs? We await. Thanks again Sha . . .
