Elderly Blues & Blows during Holy Week

As one grows older and becomes a senior citizen, the blues and the blows are like ingredients of genuine living. Come what may then, come blues or blows then, it is the way to live life to the fullest. During Holy Week, the days come and go but every day of the week serves to prepare us to do better in life each day and work harder to make our faith become influential in all the basic decisions in life. Good Friday in particular may be a sad reminder of the death of Jesus but do we get the point of his death. He has no need for salvation but we do need it every moment of our lives. Good Saturday makes it preparatory for us to become ready for Easter when the Resurrection of Jesus os also our new perspective of death, that it does not become an end but a beginning towards eternity when seen in the context of the Paschal Mystery.

So this Elderly's blues and blows are like your own blues and blows of varying degrees. This Holy Week, let us go through the experiences of pain, death and together rejoice in New Life, Newness in everything that we do.
