It's 10:49 of July 2 but still the desire to blog is alive so let us continue . . .

Hodgepodge comments on what this elderly has come to ponder upon:

1. Shock upon knowing that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are going to get divorced with Katie filing it.

           Divorce seems to become an option to the rich and the famous but not for Katie and Tom. They have barely 6 years of happy bliss, one beautiful girl and now divorce in the offing. It makes us wonder why with everything going? Then we can only check with our own life experiences to draw the reasons why: Life is precisely this - every moment should be nurtured. Whether rich or poor, the challenge is the same - how to curb the desire to have everything such that pains which come in between cause rifts and when not checked and made smooth, the scars will keep becoming big and bigger then bang! all hell can break loose . . . which takes the form in small or large doses. In the case of Katie and tom, we do not have access to their private lives but we can almost surmise that since they too are human beings, their journey as a high profile couple may have added to the difficulty of patching up as soon as there is something to be smoothed. We cannot really have everything while we are here on earth is one reality we have to accept.

2. Another shock upon knowing of crimes of rape that involve minors - 10 to 12year old girls raped by grown men, father of the 12 year old girl, who is the best friend of the the other 12 year old girl who was raped by this grown man. What a scenario which causes concerned citizens - especially the family of the victim and mothers in general - to gasp with horror and disbelief! Then there are others along the lines of crimes against minors or the minors are the ones committing the crime because they are aware they will not be imprisoned but just turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Services. When all these cases reach our eyes and ears, we want to cover our eyes and ears and pretend the culprits have been duped, doped and gone mad.

3. Another shock upon knowing the world is so chaotic, the seeming impossible things to happen in our lifetime are happening here and now.

           If you have to look around, feel around and look beyond, nothing escapes life nowadays. those which were considered unlikely to happen are happening here and now and all we can do is to be shocked and more shocked. Thus, this elderly, still inspired to blog at 10:49 blogs.
