New York will have a long, long way to come back perhaps in terms of infrastructure but its spirit to start and rebuild all over again is just admirable. The way New York handles its disaster is an eye opener to leaders all over the world - the Mayor, Michael Bloomberg gave the assessment with such objectivity yet leaves the listener the hope that they will do everything humanly possible to restore all the amenities and make sure the rescue goes on and in the meantime shelter is given to those who need it.
Having said the aforementioned, this blogger prays that the elderly and the children and in fact everyone are safe and with their loved ones. the Mayor was right, that sometimes Nature can be stronger than us when it wants to get its way and prove its power to remind that we are all mortals.
To all the volunteers thank you for your generosity of time and altruism. This blogger comes from the Philippines and she has a sister who lives in Queens New York and all she can do is pray, pray an pray that she is safe. We also extend this prayer to the elderly, the children and every new Yorker. We gather from CNN that other places other than New York are also affected by Sandy's wrath and to them, our prayers too.
