Imagine ten(10) finalists made it to CNN Heroes of the Year but who made it to the top? - the winner and Hero of the Year? Efren Penaflorida!!! He received one hundred thousand dollars for himself and perhaps for his "kariton" school but for for us, his fellow filipinos, he gave us reason to smile - big - and hold our heads up - we are countrymen of the world's hero.
Efren, just to let you know - Malaybalayan had this gut feeling that you would win. This intuition comes to me once in a while but am also aware, filipinos are the best when it comes to voting for a kababayan. There seems to be a shower of blessings from on high that literally opted to give it to us, filipinos of the Philippines, the only christian country of Asia. Sorry, just light-hearted partiality for the Good News that seems to come our way.
On Malaybalayan's part, she will have a grand time tomorrow, Monday, first day of the school week, to rejoice and inspire each other. Pacquiao, Champion of 7 various boxing categories and Penaflorida, Hero of the Year - our countrymen. Three cheers to all Filipinos!!!
