It is really sad when you happen to have a colleague who makes your blood boil. His very presence destroys your day. Sometimes you justify you try to charge it to interdependence which binds you to the reality of diplomatic existence.
Without meaning to underestimate the miracle of reconciliation, we cannot help but ask why this kind of people refuses to change. Perhaps they do not know they cause it but certainly they can sense it. The water container is empty; we need someone to carry the refill and put it in the dispenser. This guy does not budge; you just have to look for someone else. There is something to be arranged and everyone should help; he just goes about what he is doing. On the other hand, if he needs help of any kind, wow! he will really disturb you and demand attention. When he wants you to read something because he will encode whatever you have checked in his behalf, wow! he will literally wait for you to hand it to him. When he wants to borrow money, wow! he expects you to be ready with the amount.
Then you try to observe him more and what a revelation! He has some reminders to be good, to pray, to do his job well. He tries to put up a facade; he can help you during emergencies but once someone was wounded,he did not offer even a gauze or betadine. Yet he gathered the kits precisely for moments when there are urgent cases. Anyways, that's life!
