Major events, like this, are similar to the situation of the elderly. You see, Gadhafi has ruled Libya for 42 years - so long for a person to rule a country as though there is no one else who can do his job. Then when the people gradually decided that his rule had to end, even after 42 years in power, he remained defiant. We heard some of his speeches which though not literally understood it exuded arrogant and not eager to give up his absolute power.
Then, like the elderly who has to wake up one day that time is up, Gadhafi found his power ended. The details are not yet known but for us the elderly his death is a reminder of what life is meant to be. One person can not have it all. A person is made to live in harmony with others. One day each of us will have to account for all the abuses we have committed against humanity.
Elderly blue: Life will be sad and lonely for a person who lived without love, without respect of the rights of other persons who have the right to life freely as each was destined to be.
Elderly blow: Rejoicing in the streets for Libya. New directions and better days ahead for the Libyans. Filipinos can understand why there is jubilation every time freedom is restored as symbolized by EDSA 1, EDSA 2 and EDSA 3 . . . and another of its kind someday . . .
To the Libyans, take care of the new -found freedom and let it grow in the hearts of every Libyan.
