Every elderly is bound to entertain the idea that the pain or some"dis ease" is a "prelude" to some form of sickness. Of the many that are considered the most likely to afflict the elderly, diabetes is one of the top "invaders". What is the truth about this perception?
One just has "to google" and what do we find? It is not true to say that every elderly is bound to get diabetes but it is true to say that the seniors and the elderly are prone to infection and various ailments that go naturally with aging. Some may get sick but others, if they are careful, can live very active lives up to the 70's, 80's. 90's.
As a senior female, Jane Fonda comes to mind. "Google" her name and you can not help but envy her beautiful body and healthy lifestyle. Since we do not have a way of knowing if in fact all these are true, we can look at our own lives as the best witnesses to what can happen if we make sure our lives are guided by clean living and good moral values.
Elderly blue: seniors engage in drinking, cigarette smoking, "bar hopping and the like" - what do you expect if not wrinkles, insomnia and eye bugs!
Elderly blow: elderly face that glows with time, happy attitude to what comes, optimistic to the end - what do you expect if not inner beauty, inner wisdom, friends who are happy to have you around and meaningful life!
As the song goes: "We may never pass this way again" so while we are still here: Carpe diem (Seize the day!)
