Then it is October 30 and then October 31, 2011: wedding anniversary of ado and anier and birthday of boni

Time really becomes our enemy when you cannot catch up with things that have to be done. October for Filipinos is Rosary month so October work days were rosary moments for us in the College of Teacher Education. Then before we knew it it would mean October 31 is a chance to have a holiday up to November 1 reserved for our beloved dead since November 2 is a work day. . . For this elderly October 30 is her wedding anniversary while October 31 is the birthday of her deceased hubby, Ado, the father of her amazing children now grown and doing what they enjoy for their work. So in a way time is not really our enemy only a reminder of how far things have gone and how well we have responded to what life asks of us.

So to fellow sojourners all over the world, take time off to offer prayers for our beloved dead as we also assess what we have contributed to our loved ones' welfare. Who was it who said that "Time is one of the best measurements of any relationship"?

To Ado, a short prayer for a life with God, the Loving Father of us all . . .

You came to our lives for 20 years ago, in 1976 but 20 years later left us in 1998
Why all these have to happen only God the Creator knew in His wisdom so we accepted
We moved on so 13 years after you were gone, the 4 children became their own persons
Today on the occasion of your birthday, October 31,  we pray that God will give you a special place at His side and rest in peace.
Tomorrow November 1, we pray that you are really alive in our hearts even as we visit you in the cemetery and you are really alive in the Kingdom that you have seen before all of us have done.
Eternal rest, grant unto Ado, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace with you. Amen.
