The older you get especially when you become a senior citizen and more specifically when calamities come, what thoughts come to mind?
Many thoughts do come and they are so complex it is not easy to formulate more so to share. Let us try though . . .
1) You have only to watch tv and see for yourself the extent of the victims' suffering. Others go to the place to help distribute relief goods. Others give cash or in kind to help in one way or the other. Let us not forget that whatever we do to hep we do it out of Christan love and never for political or other selfish reasons.
2)Life is short so let us treasure it. When calamities come, life becomes more difficult and more challenging and we have only each other to overcome all the odds.
3) Usually the victims of life's trials lie Typhoon Pablo in Mindanao Philippines are the children and the elderly. If not for volunteers and agencies tasked to help during disaster, they are the first to become casualties. May the spirit of volunteerism become a ready attitude for all.
When calamities strike, what remains sometimes are the remnants of disaster but the heroism and generosity of the unknown tell us loud and clear that god is in each person's heart.
