Elderly Realization - there is nothing we can do when earthquakes come except pray

Bohol, Philippines woke up October 15 to a 7.2 earthquake. Its neighboring places like Cebu, Bacolod and Leyte were equally shocked and were left at a loss what to do. Imagine very old churches like Loboc Church and Baclayon Church were heavily damaged. Even the tower located in the vicinity of the Chocolate Hills was damaged. So you need not be an elderly to realize for yourself that life really makes you dizzy with the awareness life sometimes is beyond you. My elderly realization is that there is nothing we can do when earthquakes come except pray.

Cebu is still reeling with aftershocks so how much more the condition in Bohol? Another elderly realization sets in - that when the time comes all you can rely upon is your faith in the Maker who alone knows when your time is up. As though to tell us the categorical fact that we are really under the mercy of God's tender loving care.
