Our tendency is to blame God for all the misery in the world. We rarely point the finger of blame to us - to what we are not doing or supposed to do especially in moments of tragedy or calamities. All of us should take a chance to view on tv what is happening in Haiti. Families look for their loved ones amidst the rubble and all signs of despair are plastered on their faces. Whatever they lack in machineries they augment through their relentless desire to save anyone who is a victim. Others sing in praise for gratitude. There is always room for some hope.
You just have to look around to form your own opinion regarding the state of affairs. When it comes to morals, we notice that even marriage is put to the test. Imagine they want marriage to have an expiration date, we repeat expiration date! Every issue has pros and cons so we just give this matter to the debaters and they will have a field day talking about it. Just when families are the only pillars of society we can rely on, legislators come up with this idea.
Perhaps all these painful signs are for mankind not to take for granted the people who matter to us the most. Have as many moments being together; have trips and go to places the family has never visited. This early, while it is still January, plan already. Get the suggestions of every member of the family so everyone will already reserve the dates. Even without saying it, you know what is next, save for it. This is one expense worth every cent. This is one trip the family can always come home to. This is also another setting we can say: some room for hope whatever despair you are in . . .
