It seems the countdown is heightened by no less than Hurricane Irene. Bloggers, let us pool resources to pray for the victims.
Blues: Hurricanes are hurricanes and as always when it comes, it brings destruction. Sometimes, the ontrast is painful. Here we are from Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Philippines, all seated right in our sala, looking at CNN then NBC then BBC then ABS-CBN then GMA all featurng the forecast of Hurricane Irene. Already there are places that have been visited by the hurricane. We could not help but admire the way the Americans respond to the warnings. Some of them do not leave but many follow mandatory evacuations. We have relatives who are in New York City and we can only pray for their safety.
Blows: Disasters show the good side of man. We see volunteers and generous patrons who go out of their way to help. Even destruction gets hidden when the overflow of goodness overpowers the painful reality of doom.
The mystery of newness is all around us when after every storm is new day: new life.
Let us join our power to say prayers of protection for our friends all over the world regardless of race and religion.
