Michel Sidibe, executive director of UNAIDS, appeared in RT TV, Moscow, in its program "Spotlight" where he mentioned that injection is a way to prevent aids but the vaccine to a really prevent aids is still forthcoming. Most of the attempts are just first line treatment while the victims keep coming. It is indeed noteworthy that every December 1, World Aids Day, the efforts to prevent Aids is once again spotlighted for as we know by now the disease is very complex just as its vaccine is still not perfected. "It will take sometime to really prevent it as confirmed by Sidibe. With global financial crisis all the more attention to aids is hampered. It will take decadesto make the vaccine said Sidibe. More resources from the domestic front are needed although Sidibe acknowledges the response to do something about Aids is not limited to Africa but in Asia as well.. The proposed prevention revolution might come to a halt if support slows down. It becomes inevitable to declare that Aids has become a social issue.
What can the elderly say to this scenario? Perhaps not much but we can still work in whatever capacity to support all activities if only to inform the young what they may enjoy but always with responsibility. Malaybalayan.blogspot.com is a teacher so her classes are her forum to pursue the information drive about Aids. How about you?
Elderly blue: When nobody makes it a concern to pray for the Aids victims or donate to causes that focus on Aids prevention.
Elderly blow: When families do their share to take care of their own to enlighten the kids about Aids and what they can do to multiply their awareness to friends and friends and friends.
