Independent living for senior means doing one's best to stay alert and productive which begins with standing up and moving about . . .

Take it or leave: you do not expect to do anything if you do not stand up and move about. This is one fundamental task every senior citizen has to do and always do everyday. 

Much of one's alertness and productivity rests on one's attitude so fellow senior guys, this is the challenge forever in a day: Go positive in whatever you do.

Once you stand up, that is, after thanking god for the brand new day - move about your home or place where you stay. Decide what to do first - other than personal necessities - and smile. The day is now good to deal with.

Think of something you can look forward to. A travel would be exciting to happen in the near future. Go to a place you have never been to but if you have been there, at least there are places you have not visited yet in the area. this way, the element of surprise and discovery become part of the journey.

Many other things can be hatched but first and foremost, stand up asap and move about. Have you done this?
