When one finally experiences a trip to a foreign country, it will be a beginning of a life of firsts. The first first is when you see a world other than your own. The next first is when you are already an elderly but can still briskly walk around it is a rare chance of walking in a land entirely new to you at a time when you have reached half or more of a century of living. The third first is how you came to have the trip in the first place? In the case of this elderly the trip happened through the joint efforts of my four children to bring it about. It was a family trip so those who have more than enough made it a point to share it to those who need it anytime. The fourth first is to hold your head high because you have gotten rid of the stigma of just being born and dying in the country of your birth and never having seen anywhere else.
What more then if a trip is offered to you to go to a foreign country for free, after other trips where you spent for it. How does this happen and is there a chance it can happen to an elderly or senior citizen? The answer is through your connections through the year. my daughter would say did you sow seeds of patient waiting? Did you volunteer in some non-governmental undertakings and in those occasions you had to use your time, talent and treasure and nobody Else's. Without your knowledge, others saw what you have done and through the wonder of social media, your efforts are seen from afar and now they have contacted you.
Let us just say that this is the way of life. It is always advisable to give and give and give. Even trips to foreign countries can come as tokens of gratitude for adding to the short list of people who are selfless.
In the meantime congratulations to good people. Fellow elderly and senior citizens, we may not have these free trips but our children will have them Let us be happy for our loved ones. I am.
