Is heat stroke more dangerous for the elderly and senior citizens than the younger ones?

It is truly summer nowadays. The heat alone is almost unbearable. The case in question is then about heat stroke. Is heat stroke more dangerous for the elderly and senior citizens than the younger ones?

Indeed sources  say it is more dangerous for the elderly. Search Google and you get steps how to know the signs. Since I am one of the elderly what I can share is what everybody has been doing as first aid. This is to drink as much water as possible. If the ordinary advice is eight glasses of water; it is better to drink more. There was a time when I filled up one liter container to find out how much water I have drunk. I will try to do this again and again. At least I live in a place which is not altogether hot since I live in Malaybalay, Bukidnon Central Mindanao, Philippines so this area is still famous for cool weather. Tourism wants to describe our place a "city within a forest".

While we say heat stroke is more dangerous for the elderly and senior citizens, it is still safe to say it is dangerous for everyone so as always, prevention is better than cure.

In the meantime let us pursue our hobbies so that our attention is on productive things. Think having a vacation with loved ones during this occasion. The idea of travel is very exciting. Somehow, heat stroke stays in the background while we always place it in our minds.

Take Care. Smile.
